Sunday morning singing to my Savior.

Singing in my car along with the radio.

Singing in the shower.

Yes all acts of worship. But there is more… so much more.

Worship is a conversation…

Something has happened at work and I glance at the Bible on my desk
and He speaks to me. Speaks comfort, love, encouragement and
correction. I get in my car and the lyrics to the song remind me to
be strong. Today was a hard day at work. Something happened to discourage me. It felt like a storm.

The phone rings. A colleague and brother in Christ asked if I knew
the song, “Stand in the Rain”. I caught my breath and said yes, Thank
you, I needed to hear that. All he had to do was say the name of the
song. Here are the lyrics.

Stand in the Rain
by Superchic[k]

She never slows down
She doesn’t know why but,
she knows that when
Shes all alone, it feels
Like its all, coming down
She won’t turn around
The shadows are long
And she fears if she cries
That first tear
The tears will not stop
Raining down

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when its all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won’t drown
And one day whats lost can be found
You stand in the rain

She won’t make a sound
Alone in this fight with herself
And the fears whispering
If she stands, she’ll fall down
She wants to be found
The only way out is through
everything she’s running from
Wants to give up and lie down

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when its all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won’t drown
And one day whats lost can be found
You stand in the rain

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when its all crashing down
Stand through the pain
You won’t drown
And one day whats lost can be found

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when its all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won’t drown
And one day whats lost can be found
You stand in the rain

The first time I heard this song I identified and had to pull over to sing it and cry it. My friend knows me well but Jesus knows me better. He planned that chain of events.

God speaks to my heart in many ways. This evening in the crisp night
air I felt a longing for Him. A desire to get out of the car and
just run to Him. Out the window in the silky black depths of the
night hung a beautiful moon. I wanted to pull over and just get out
and to walk in this amazing night. Walk away from civilization and to
seek Him. To be alone with Him and to worship. To focus on His creation and to ponder the awesomeness of God.

Much like when I stand on the beach my toes digging in the sand as the salty water laps up against my legs. I can stand there and watch the waves roll in one after another. Mesmerized by the incredible beauty of it all. All created for me, His child. He speaks to me through His creation. He speaks to me through music. He speaks to me through you.

Worship is a conversation.
